Festival Season in Saxony-Anhalt: Melt, Splash, Forest Jump – A Summer of Music

The festival season in Saxony-Anhalt is in full swing. Here’s a look at the major and minor festivals still to come this summer – and one that’s already sold out.

Summer is synonymous with festivals, and in Saxony-Anhalt, the season kicked off with a bang at the Sputnik Spring Break in May 2024.

On Whit Monday, the 15th edition of the festival concluded with a grand fireworks display. Around 25,000 music fans gathered on the Pouch Peninsula to enjoy performances by Nina Chuba, Scooter, and Sido.

In addition to major festivals like Spring Break, Splash, and Melt – which is happening for the last time this year – music fans in Saxony-Anhalt can also look forward to numerous smaller festivals. For example, the “Rock im Garten” festival is held in a small private garden in Rohrsheim.

The artists performing at the Tarmac Festival remain a secret as of July 2nd. The festival’s name refers to the airfield in Allstedt where it takes place: “Tarmac” is the English word for “runway”.
